✅ General Guidelines
1. Respect the Event Atmosphere: The Promenade is a celebratory, family-friendly event. Crews must film respectfully and avoid disrupting participants or spectators.
2. Crew Size Limitations:
a. Crews of 3 people or fewer may film without a permit.
b. Crews of 4 or more must apply for a filming permit via the Bath Film Office.
3. Drone Use:
a. Launching drones from Council-owned parks, highways or public spaces requires a drone permit from the Bath Film Office.
b. All drone operations must comply with CAA regulations and be pre-approved.
4. Road Safety:
a. Filming from the road is prohibited unless a formal road closure is in place.
b. Crews must not obstruct traffic or create hazards for vehicles or pedestrians.
5. Promenade Etiquette:
a. Crews must not obstruct the forward procession of the Promenade at any time.
b. Filming should be done from the side or ahead of the procession without impeding its flow.
6. Filming in Parks: Please avoid filming in children’s play areas.
🛡️ Health, Safety & Insurance
6. Risk Assessment:
- Crews are strongly advised to conduct an on-site risk assessment prior to filming.
7. Public Liability Insurance:
- A minimum of £5 million in public liability insurance is recommended for all filming crews.
🚶 Public Access & Business Considerations
8. Pedestrian Access:
- When filming on pavements, crews must leave sufficient space for pedestrians to pass without stepping into the road.
9. Access to Businesses and Residences:
- Crews must not block doorways to shops, cafes, or private homes.
